Jewish Martyrs' Monument (Plateia Eleftherias/Freedom Square)*

In 1997, the monument was revealed in the presence of the President of the Republic, ministers, MPs and eminent figures from Greece and abroad. The monument that Greece dedicated to 50,000 of its citizens, the Jews of Thessaloniki, who were exterminated by the Germans in World War II, was designed by the Glid brothers and stands at Plateia Eleftherias (Freedom Square), on the intersection of Nikis Avenue and El. Venizelou Street.
